Automatic packaging machine for semi-dense food products in glass jars, designed for packaging yoghurt, sauces, jams and similar products. The Elite 1500 is a highly customisable machine, with doses from 50 to 500 g, including fruit pieces. With a capacity of approximately 1500 jars/hour, it integrates automatic jar loading, rinsing, dosing and capping in a single system, with a touch-screen PLC that makes it Industry 4.0 certifiable and remote support included.
Machine type
The Elite 1500 is an automatic packaging machine for semi-dense foodstuff in glass jars: the packaging cycle runs without manual intervention and the operator simply supervises and controls production through the PLC.
It is suitable for packaging yoghurt, sauces, jams and similar products, in glass jars.
Being an automatic machine, it can be connected to the customer’s existing plant for loading the jars.
Features
The Elite 1500 works in 5 stages, carried out in sequence within the same machine: container loading, container rinsing and sterilisation, dosing, capping and unloading.
Container loading
Jars are loaded automatically from the dedicated conveyor belt at the inlet.
Container rinsing and sterilisation
The rinsing device is equipped with 12 rotating grippers, which ensure the correct rinsing and draining time.
Rinsing is carried out with sterile water (sterilised through a 7" filter and UV-C lamp) or with steam.
Dosing
Main product dosing ranges from 50 to 500 g, for a wide range of products, in glass jars; size changeover takes just a few minutes. Hourly capacity is approximately 1500 jars/hour (actual capacity depends on the characteristics of the product and packaging).
It also allows dosing of fruit pieces. Depending on the type of product and the customer’s needs, dosing can be carried out by a volumetric piston or by electronic flow meters with membrane valves. The system is complete with a jar presence sensor, an isobaric product hopper and process valves.
Capping
Several types of capping are available:
Preformed heat-sealed lid: the aluminium lid magazine is loaded in advance by the operator; a fully automatic system dries the rim of the jar for a better seal, positions the lid, welds it with a head specific for glass and re-folds the edges to ensure greater resistance when opening.
Aluminium coil: the fully automatic process includes a dryer for the jar rim, an automatic die cutter that creates and forms the lids to be welded, a pneumatic conveyor, an automatic lid positioner, a welding head specific for glass and a re-folding device for better adhesion of the lid edges to the jar. The device that works from the coil is designed and manufactured by Pasin SRL.
Snap-on lid: automatic device for applying a pressure plastic lid, which can be used on its own or combined with the heat-sealed lid.
Twist-off caps: automatic system with a magnetic elevator complete with sorter, which conveys the caps into the positioner chute, a cap positioner specific for twist-off with a pre-screwing device and a screwing spindle.
Unloading
Jars are unloaded onto the dedicated conveyor belt.
Cleaning solutions
The Elite 1500 has a complete cleaning and sterilisation system, with CIP and SIP.
CIP (cleaning in place): all parts in contact with food can be CIP-cleaned, and the recirculation system, of new design, ensures maximum simplicity and efficiency. The PLC has an automatic washing programme already installed, which can be modified according to the customer’s needs.
SIP (sterilisation in place): before production, the entire dosing system is sterilised with steam. The device is equipped with filters, pressure gauges, valves and everything needed for perfect sterilisation.
A washing tank for the parts in contact with the product is available as an option; it can be used as a small recirculation circuit or to connect the machine to the customer’s CIP.
Industry 4.0
The PLC is also available in a touch-screen version, which makes the entire machine Industry 4.0 certifiable. Remote support is included.
High Clean
High Clean solutions are available as options for more hygienic packaging: a HEPA filter, which injects sterile air and creates a sanitised environment, and a UV-C lamp for sterilising the packaging materials.
Accessories and options available
- Minifiller for fruit puree, to obtain a “double-flavour” jar; suitable for very viscous products and/or products with pieces, product hopper included;
- Washing tank for the parts in contact with the product, which can be used as a small recirculation circuit or for connection to the customer’s CIP;
- Rotating table in stainless steel for collecting filled jars;
- HEPA filter to inject sterile air and create a sanitised environment;
- UV-C lamp for sterilising the packaging materials;
- Labelling machine: automatic labeller for self-adhesive labels applied to the body of the jar;
- Warranty seal on the jar cap, with an applicator system complete with spreader;
- Inkjet date coder installed on the conveyor belt, for printing expiry date, lot and more, complete with its own programming software.
What is it suitable for?
The Elite 1500 is recommended for small to medium-scale production, up to approximately 1500 jars per hour, in dairies and food companies that want to package yoghurt, sauces, jams and other semi-dense products in jars.
It is a compact, solid and easy-to-use machine, with size changeover in a few minutes.
